Under Construction

ENGLISH
I started to work on my very new web site and I hope I will release it this year. These days I am thinking about it's structure and content and I started to implement a navigation. Please be patient.

Another change in my life is that I quit my paid .Mac account. It means that I had to change my e-mal address and some links (that points to pdf files) on this blog will not be valid for a while.

ČESKY
Začal jsem pracovat na svém úplně novém webu. Chtěl bych ho zveřejnit do konce roku.

School Over

This week I graduated at my school (http://www.institutdm.cz/). It was very hard year studying, working on my projects and travelling to Prague, but I have learned many many things. It was not cheap school but I am sure it worth to study it. Now I am full of energy and I am starting of working on projects that I postponed to the date.

Thank you IDM. I am able to do many very nice things now. And I will.

This is my final project. A Calendar. The text is in Czech, photos are international. I made it completely: a concept, cooking, food styling, lightng, taking photos, creating a document... Well, i didn't wash the dishes. But I invented the food placed at the very last page.

Weird colors

When I commit photos to this blog there is some picture transformation that makes colors less colorful and less bright. Unluckily I have no time to do anything with it until September 10. After that period you can expect the pictures presented here are much better. Please be patient.

Pears with Blue Cheese

Baked pears with blue cheese on it. Sweet a cheesy taste. Tender and hard. Blue and yellow. Yummy. I was inspired with roasted Pecorino (sheep) cheese with honey - a famous Italian recipe.

The first three photos are not very same. Please vote in comment which one you like most.

Sprout Soup

A one of hot photos, the soup is still warm laying in my kitchen. It is typical Czech soup. Very good for warming your body when a fall comes, it rains all days long and you can do nothing but to wait until next summer comes. Well, you can move to Africa but it is not my case ;)

Wasp

I sent no post for long time. It is because of I had hard time these days. Now it seems it is getting better and better.

Anyway, yesterday a wasp wisited me - in fact they build their nest in our window so they visit us quite often - and it wandered on my desk. Finally it let me to take some portraits sitting (or standing?) on a CD and posing.

Apricot Chutney

It's time to eat apricots every day - you can get fresh ones just for a short period each year. Apricots, honey, ginger...

Sardegna Cake

We were at Sardegna last year with Corrado. He took such a great care of us so that I promised to give him the biggest cake I ever made. Here it is. It is sweet, with pork, with garlic, with pate. The most interesting part is south-east land - it is made of dark bread with lard and chocolate. A most tasty Sardegna district.

The knife points at Lunamatrona village.

Eggplant

Sweet, sweet, sweet... Many dishes I prepared these days were sweet so when I found an eggplant and meat in my fridge I decided to prepare something that contains vegetable and meat. Here it is. Eggplant, green onion, zucchini, pork, lard. Perfect! Full stomach again.

Apricot Bread Pudding

Bread, milk, egg, sugar, cinnamon, butter. And apricots, of course. Simple meal that again ended up in my crowded stomach. Yummy!

Apricot Cake

Yesterday I bought some apricots and I tried this very simple recipe. Just dip apricot halves into butter and fry it on ghee or on butter. Must be eaten fresh and hot.
Photos are boring, I was not able to make any better one.

Cauliflower with Tomato Sauce

It is time of fresh local cauliflower and tomatoes. Refreshing food in those hot days.

Traditional Czech Cake

Many Czech people prepares this cake in time of fresh cherries and red currant.

Karjalanpiiraka

A guest from Finland visited us and she prepared Karjalanpiiraka - a traditional Finland food. It was quite uncommon (neither salty nor sweet) and I liked it very much.

Chicken Lu-Lin

A weird photo of tasty Chinese food.

Home-Made Bread

It is my first home-made bread I ever cooked. It was nice with butter and onion or with jam. I know, the photos can be much better. Next time they will.

Focaccia

In fact, it is not facaccia at all. I call it focaccia only. Well, let's call it Berka's focaccia.

And what it is? It is a bread with some vegetable and olive pieces in it. And with thyme on it.

Mackerel with Lemon and Wine

I liked this recipe very much. It is a mackerel in a wine and lemon sauce. Very tasty. And the preparation is fast, all the cooking takes 7 minutes.

Mulberries

Not many people know that mulberry trees grow in central Europe. When some tree grows in a public park or on the street no one cares about it. And no one believes the berries are eatable. What a shame.

We found those berries in a city park in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic.

Earwig

An earwig visited our flat and I took it some portraits.

Postcard from Olomouc

It is nice idea to design our own postcards and send them afterwards. This is one from Olomouc main square.

On purpose it is designed as most boring ordinary city postcard - the point is it looks like official one but there is my grandma on it.

Despite this postcard, Olomouc worth seeing.

Mussels

I shot mussels today. Some people (including myself) likes to eat them.

This picture reminds me something but I can't find out what it is.

This is chicken, you know.

Strawberry Soup

It is strawberry time and it is hot these days so I got an idea to prepare cold strawberry soup.
